Paul H. Derrick
Mr. Derrick is a partner in the firm’s Raleigh office, where his practice is concentrated in the areas of labor and employment law, public safety/civil rights, government law, commercial and complex litigation, and general liability. He has successfully tried over 35 court cases, arbitrations, and administrative matters, as well as dozens of appellate arguments and briefings.
For nearly three decades, Mr. Derrick has effectively defended employers throughout the country against individual, class, and collective actions raising a range of workplace and constitutional law issues, particularly in the agribusiness, retail, hospitality, and manufacturing industries. He regularly provides preventive and strategic advice and litigates cases involving breaches of restrictive covenants, unfair competition and theft of trade secrets, discrimination of all types, retaliation, union organizing matters, wage and hour violations, employment-related torts, and more. He also has conducted hundreds of training programs on union avoidance and most aspects of employment law.
Mr. Daniels a partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary’s Sacramento office and is vice-chair of the Firm’s Commercial Litigation/Directors & Officers National Practice Section. Mr. Daniels is an accomplished trial lawyer with a wide ranging litigation practice encompassing a variety of commercial contract litigation, employment, tort, coverage, professional liability and construction disputes. He is recognized as a premier defense and trial attorney in Northern California having served as President of the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada.
For nearly 25 years, Mr. Daniels has defended many of California’s most significant businesses, both non-profit and for-profit, and professionals throughout federal and state courts including class and multi-district litigation. Mr. Daniels also is a member of FMG’s California Employment Practice Team and has defended virtually every type of employment claim including section 1983 cases; discrimination; sexual harassment; wrongful discharge; violations of state and federal employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, CFRA, ADA, FEHA, Title VII, EPPA, ADEA, and wage and hour disputes, and restrictive covenant matters.
Ms. Parker works in Freeman Mathis & Gary’s Hermosa Beach office. Her practice focuses on commercial litigation and professional liability defense, including the representation of financial institutions and individuals in state and federal courts and arbitration forums. Margot also represents employers in labor and employment litigation, including discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and breach of contract claims.
Margot’s experience also includes environmental litigation and regulatory matters involving consumer products, including actions under California’s Proposition 65. Margot received her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law, where she was a member of the Environmental Law Clinic. She continues to serve environmental causes as an active volunteer with Surfrider Foundation.
