Lorne G. Hiller is an Associate in Freeman Mathis & Gary’s Nashville office. Lorne grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland, before moving to the US with his family. Lorne practices primarily in the area of complex commercial litigation with an emphasis on the construction industry. He also handles employment, professional liability, and insurance coverage disputes.
After graduating from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, Lorne began his practice in Western Colorado, handling matters ranging from insurance defense on auto policies and commercial liability for the oil and gas industry, to business advising and liquor licensing. In Nashville, after a stint counseling clients on copyright and intellectual property matters in the music industry, he expanded his practice into first-party property insurance coverage litigation, representing clients around the country in state and federal courts on matters involving multi-million-dollar catastrophic losses. Now, Lorne draws from these variety of experiences in the legal industry to offer clients a creative and personalized approach to their needs.
Outside of work, Lorne enjoys spending time with his wife while traveling, paddleboarding, and playing with their three dogs. Lorne also enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, and surfing. He is also a member of the Metro Nashville Office of Emergency Management Emergency Support Unit, where he supports water rescue and recovery operations.
